Floyd used a Hammond B3 and a Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 during the Wall era. The "French Horn" sound that you refer to is most definitely the Prophet 5 cutoff and resonance set low. They also used the Minimoog , which "could" be the sound you are referring to....
