Serenih born in 1966 Rawanduz, Southern Kurdistan, to the rhythm of the bombardment of the civilians of his town.
The voices of resistance "Peshmargas" on the top of Handrain Mountain said, "Oh God, another unfortunate baby Kurds is born!"
When he was in the second grade, the Iraqi regime attacked Kurdistan.
Serwan and his family had to run to their best friends' home in the Kurdistan's mountains.
He grew up with the voice of Napalm, and the sound of bombarding. Many times his hometown was destroyed by Iraqi regime. He lived in the caves hiding from the brutal dictatorship. He tasted a small amount of chemical gas, which was used by Saddam and Chemical Ali in larger doses to kill thousands of other Kurds.
An accomplished violinist, Sereni began studying music with Zrar M. Rawanduzi and Ahmad Al-Jawadi.
He taught at the Fine Arts Institute in Hawler (Kurdistan's Capital). He also founded and conducted the first Kurdistan Orchestra in the capital city of Hawler. His current teachers are Minnesota Orchestra members Ken Freed and McGuire.
Sereni has been featured as a soloist and has recorded classical music for Kurdistan Satellite.
He was member whit the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra; presently he is playing with Kenwood Symphony Orchestra. Today, Sereni feels a fortunate man, thriving in the United States among great artists and friends.
