Aficionado of house and rare groove dance music - located in Zurich Switzerland, Born 1967. I had the truly unique chance to particpate the birth of Chicago House Music. None other style has influenced todays main-stream as House did. Early House was a true underground movement, either you liked it or you disliked it because this sound was so different from anyhting known in this period. Obviously, such radical change in sound design would have not kicked off without the development of Rolands legendary stepsequencer series and some other infamous analog gear in this period. I used to hang out in a privat Disco-Club called Flamingo in Zürich where the resident DJ Roger rocked us all night long with quality underground disco and chicago house tracks. Rocky Jones from D.J. International Records was quied suprised about the fact that a dance-club had been focused on Chicago House by that time. We kept on celebrating these glorious new sounds time and again in the years of 1985-87. In comparison we've been a smal community and it is fair to say that we have been true House Music pioneers. By then it took some what like 4 more years before House would find its way into main stream. It was a truly joyfull time and on behalf all former Flamingo guests I'd like to thank Roger for his great work. In case you've been part of this area, you are going to find tons of Flamingo-classics. Check my favorites and play- lists for more chicago house classics. With no doubt, the best house tracks have been produced in the years 86/87. Stick your head out for these production years in case you would like to find superb Chi-House. I am proud to be one of few collectors sharing some of these great tracks with a wider public on youtube. Enjoy!
