About this user

Born in Barcelona in 1980, he obtained the Degree in Piano, Music theory, Composition and Informatics Barcelona. In september 2009, move to New York. He holds Masters Degree in Film Composition from the New York University (NYU) 2011 and he is now a PhD candidate and Adjunct Professor at NYU.

During the 09/10 he has been commissioned to write a Clarinet Concerto, an Orchestra piece "Masques", as a Winner of NYU Orchestra Composer Residency competition 2010 and a piece for Wind Orchestra. He will write part of the score of the Catalan Film "People and Landscape of Catalonia" which will be presented in the Washington International FilmFest.

He wrote works for all types of formations, which have been performed in halls like the Symphonic Hall of Barcelona's L'Auditori or in Cleeveland and Sant Petersburg (Rusia). In 2005 he won the SGAE award to the best premiere, in 2008 his orchestral work "From the Hell" won the III composition competition Evaristo Fernández Blanco. This work has also been awarded with one of the "creation incentives" of SGAE for the year 2008.

He is the artistic director and composer of the Barcelona based ConjuntXXI! since its creation, and since september 2009 of hte New York based Orchestra Insonica.

Nascut a Barcelona el 1980, té una formació polifacètica. Per una banda s'ha lllicenciat en Piano i en Harmonia i Teoria de la Música al Conservatori del Liceu. Per una altra, ha obtingut la llicenciatura en Composicó a l'Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya. I, en una vessant radicalment diferent, està finalitzant els estudis d'Enginyeria en Informàtica a la UPC amb el disseny d'aplicacions web.
Com a compositor, ha escrit per a diverses formacions i amb un interès especial per a les obres amb instrument solista. A Catalunya, les seves obres s'han interpretat a sales com les de l'Auditori de Barcelona. A fora de Catalunya, destaca l'estrena a St. Petersburg l'any 2004, en motiu de l'Aniversari del pianista rus Leonid Sintsev, interpretant al piano els Tres sketchs en forma d'Scherzo.
Aquesta formació polièdirca l'ha portat a ser un dels impulsors del ConjuntXXI!, que actualment co-dirigeix fent tasques com les de composar, orquestrar o realitzar les pàgines web del Conjuntxxi!.
