Sefarad | The History of Spaniard Sephardic Jews in a Nutshell

Prophecy:
Obadiah 1:20 And the captivity of this host of the children of Israel, that are among the Canaanites, even unto Zarephath, and the captivity of Jerusalem, that is in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the South.
Nutshell:
In the first Temple period, the original inhabitants of Jerusalem were the Sephardim. The King of Babylon invaded the Holy City with his armies to destroy the Holy Temple and capture all of Israel. Sephardic Jews were being slaughtered. Many escaped to Iran, Iraq, Morocco, Turkey and even Salonika. But the great majority were able to stay together and made it to a peninsula which they deemed safe. They found the ground to be fertile and the climate perfect for them. They named this peninsula Sefarad. Unfortunately all the inhabitants of Israel were captured, taken to Babylon and placed into slavery for 70 years. While all of Israel was forced to serve the will of the Babylonian King for 70 years, the Sephardic Jews continued to serve freely the God of their forefathers, Avraham, Yitzhak and Yaakov. The King of Babylon finally decided he did not need the Jews any longer and booted them out of Babylon. With no Temple, their land desolate and barren, the Jews had no place to go. Ezra came to their rescue and lovingly helped them to return to Torah and commit to serving the God of Israel once again. They do this and now they have to disperse. They also knew, that while they were in slavery for 70 years, the Sephardim were living freely as Jews, keeping the original covenant given at Mt. Sinai, in Sefarad. They decided to give that peninsula a nick name. They called it Iveria. Ivri means Hebrew. Iveria means the place of the Hebrews . This place of the Jews is better known as the Iberian peninsula. Many centuries later, it became known as Spain. In 1482, the King and Queen of Spain wanted the Jews to convert to the mother church that was in power. They commissioned a Spanish Monk named Torquemada to devise a way to convert the Jews. He designed and executed the Spanish inquisition.
Jews were being butchered for a ten year period. In 1492, Christopher Columbus tells the Queen that he can find no one who wants to join his voyage on the three ships she had built for him, because they believed the world was flat. The Queen assures him that she has plenty of people; criminals (90% marranos and 10% moriscos). They were the criminals... the Sephardic Jews! The King then issued a decree to banish for good all the Jews of Spain. The expulsion of the Jews from Spain gave Columbus the opportunity to fill his ships with Sephardic Jews and few others as moriscos. He arrived to the New World, in the Caribbean and South America bringing convert Jews (marranos) to freedom and finally practice their faith.
Sephardic Jews then started to live freely and create a new live apart from Spain, they started businesses in the area, for instance in Lima Peru Jews where known for been good commerce people by buying and bridging textiles, goods, and merchandise from other Sephardic merchants from Amsterdam, Turkey, Brazil and Portugal. Sephardic Jews finally were able to practice their faith but in secret and not freely. When the King Ferdinand the Catholic perceive that the Conversos (Jewish coverts) started to practice Judaism and got back in the business he established the Spanish Inquisition in Palermo Sicily and Sardinia in 1513. In the Americas, tribunals were established in Lima Peru 1569 ,Mexico City 1571 and Cartagena de Indias 1610 (Colombia).
Many Jews fled to Brazil, Amsterdam, Turkey and some years later from Brazil fled to New Amsterdam (N.Y city). Some Jews that stayed in the Americas hide in to the mountains, in to the Andes and in to the Amazon to hide from the ruthless slaughter forces from the Inquisition. Many Jews were put to dead and the ones that survived were hidden for years, losing their Jewish identity and years later becoming non Jews for the rest of the world. Many of this Jews started to recover their Jewish Identity but many dont even know about it. Many still practice other religion and some others convert to Judaism. This is the story of the Sephardim, the Jews of Spain and their exile. Every Jew has a story & many more to tell.
The Inquisition was finally abolished in 1821. The inquisition lasted 343 years and killed many Jewish life as well as many others. Was by far the largest holocaust of all times.
87 years later in 1908 Pope Piux X renamed the inquisition in to Sagrada Congregación del Santo Oficio or in English as Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and is an organization that still active today in the Roman Catholic Church.

Yorar kero i no puedo. Mi korason suspira. Torno i te digo: ke va a ser de mi? En tierras ajenas yo me vo murir!

I like the video you posted called SEPHARDIC PRAYER. Would you tell us if this was taken in Moroco, or is it in the USA and they are singing Morocan music? Are they Morocan people who migrated to the USA? What is the music saying? Is it prayer to Ha Shem? What are the musical instruments? Thanks!
