Some of the horses seem to have standing martingales--or lanyards maybe? I was always told restricting the horse's head movement like that'll make it real hard for them to keep their balance...

Aww, she's a doll! See how her tail uncurls a bit at times during the video? That's a Basenji thing: when they're unhappy or really focused on something, their tails will droop. She obviously doesn't like being ignored...another B trait : )

@themagicunicorn01 "hanging on" to a cutting horse is pretty difficult--a bit like sitting a horse who's spooking in a bunch of different directions. It doesn't hard 'cuz she's making it look easy, y'know?

He's adorable--the scratching and exasperated sniffs to get attention are sooo basenji! How the heck did you teach him not to enter that room? And did you ever get him a sister?

@clovera Maybe those narrow minded pet laws are for the best? While it means you and I can't own one, it also means the 'idiot brigade' can't, either! BTW, I own/rescue Basenjis which are considered semi-domestic dogs. If you have the right set up (a securely fenced property, no kids under 8, ...

in this case, I'd say multiple dogs = breeder: the 4 smaller B's are likely pups of the larger 5th dog, the mama. And while 5 B's are a bit of a handful, keeping Basenjis in "packs" of two, three or more keeps them happy and out of trouble...they're very pack oriented.

I tried that with my B's, they're not as coordinated as your Tara: whipped cream on their noses, ears, eyebrows, the floor, cabinets, ceiling, EVERYWHERE. They had a blast : )

And now you know why Basenji Rescue organizations won't adopt dogs to families with kids under 8 years of age, and why many B's are turned into rescue for biting children...

Look, his obesity was caused by cardiometabolic disorder, not being lazy--basically, while simple carbohydrates are bad for everybody, they might as well be poison for native Hawaiian people.
