Seeing Scarlet formed in 2004 when fortune found them all inhabiting the same rehearsal space, pockets brimming with songs but as yet no full band to play them. Things clicked together immediately: through intensive rehearsing and demoing, lovingly-crafted melodies with trademark harmonies and bittersweet lyrics were complemented by searing guitar riffs and a Fort Knox-tight rhythm section.

In a little over a year since their first gig, they had made friends in high places and recorded and released their first single, the limited edition double A side 'Ugly Girl / Never Good Enough'. The single sold out in the first two weeks of release, during which time the video for Never Good Enough was downloaded 15,000 times. MTV2, V:MX Alt, Cube music and Fizz immediately picked up on and playlisted the video.

The critics described it as 'stunning' (Room Thirteen), 'glorious' (Glasswerk), 'compelling' (Damn Pest), 'alluring' (Music Week), 'catchy' and 'anthemic' (The Fly). Industry bible Music Week had already recognised a stadium grandeur in their early demos, which London's XFM has been rotating throughout 2005.

Currently the band is in the final stages of recording their debut album. On the emerging record, Seeing Scarlet combine haunting melodies layered over pounding bass and drums with euphoric pop-rock anthems, songs lifted into a league of their own by raw energy and soaring vocal harmonies. Drawing on influences from the Police to Depeche Mode, the Smiths to Smashing Pumpkins, expect something huge: a record that will eclipse the hype and excitement that is growing daily.

There is a buzz in London, and Seeing Scarlet is the cause.
