Dutch-born Henk van Ess is, according to The Economist, New York Times and CNBC, "a reporter and a technology expert". He is specialized in events and workshops about serious social media, search, crowd sourcing, long tail projects and internet strategy for news media and companies.

Henk is also deeply involved in the worldwide training of reporters and multimedia specialists. He is co-founder of the European Centre for Computer Assisted Research and is a regular speaker on social media & 'digital diggingʼ at world conferences.
