I have been making Films and Music for quite a while, twenty Plus years, mostly in quaint upstate New York, off the radar...and until I got mixed up with the people who were active memebers of the industry, ("higher education", Fleece U...is all it was)..I was doin' pretty well for myself otherwise. Job, credit score, fiancee...They aren't too smart...just sneaky, a regular thieves market really...so they need other peoples heads, "headhunters" is what they call them to look intelligent after all the booze an' broads eat up all their time when they should have been out there bustin' their own butts dedicated to their own ideas an' inventions...'stead of filchin' an' leachin' out other people's energies....a bit like this here "Youtube". Now they can sit pretty in their LA offices an' jest check out other peoples work all day. If you were unknown to these people you had an advantage...as a natural. But they got their legions of welfare reciepients to protect them like the Plantations of Ole...The Song of the South...can't ya hear it in the air? She'll be commin' roun' the Obama when she comes...Hey Mr. Tambourine Man....Drug Dealers...When it came to authenticity in the culture they went with real criminals instead of real, working poor folks...kind of a double slap in the face...keep the poor working for the rich an' the crooks...I had a film that was My "Born in the USA" on terrorisim an' the Gulf War an' George Bush...Americana..I was studying Northern Ireland at the time back in 1996-97...actually had been for ten years at that point...trying to put it all together ..but most importantly, trying to build a home and settle into a natural course of life....after all the side jobs I had to get to that point...what looked like a bit of prosperity and growth to me...but these bums took those ideas an' ran with them...under some pretense of social progress...I mean the Clintons moved in next door to my college an' next thing I know "Peace" comes to North Ireland...(And they want to give Springsteen credit for it!)..They was usin' my premise to try an' rope Springsteen into their little click..their profit machines...because we all know from the 80's how inescapable Springsteen was with such a noble an' dignified stance on lendin' his talents to Politiicos an' Corporations!..What Happened? I'm tellin' ya...)Especially the African community..So I get left with nuthin' but this...the shaft,..ten years later, wanderin' around totally blacklisted from exploitin' my craft for money, I got to do it all for free, out of my own pocket...but known as a good fishin' hole for ideas to make things happen..An "Ace in the Hole" is what they call it...Like "On the Waterfront"...Seriously, these were the psyhcophants an' toadies who worked around Bono..etc...They suck it real hard..It's the crime you don't see, that's their whole game, the pretense of their associations, subversion.....and they have their lawyers, on yer ass, trying to figure out how they can keep themselves looking like saints of the world, all clean an' kindy...Hell, Bono IS Irish cutting in on legitimate American markets, and in the 80's Springsteen was the mark...no matter how good hearted they seem...or how much they hang with the pope, bums or models...management figures its good promotional stuff..the whole African=Clarence Clemmons riff there.. management are the ones runnin' the show. Chinese Eunuchs used to call 'em, "Marquis of Guardin the Bridge"..that's all rock stars are.
Anyways, I'm not about to stop my work. I dig the Koreans.
