we raised herefords as a kid, mostly polled, Still nothing cooler than seeing that big old curly head, with a nice set of horns coming over the hill. Sure miss the farm, bunch of houses where we use to raise corn, soybeans , and run the cattle.

My guess is he's a hereford Holstein X, most likely out of one of their own cows and they just kept him to do clean up on the older cows, that they are less likely to keep the heifer calves out of.

@shell181 When I was a kid we did that. lost on average 1 pig per litter because the sow would lay on the piglet. That was much more humane for the piglet.
