Good job! ... And yes, in American English there is the rhotic difference but the schwa is the same and an essential key to developing a better English language accent, especially for those languages (e.g., Thai, etc) which places equal value on word stress.

In fact many words themselves become schwa (sentence stress) when unstressed in a sentence. "I'm going to the market"--note what happens to "the" and "to".
