Background: As of 2008, I've been singing for about 15 years, mostly metal stuff but also occasionally pop and rock. Actually I like trying different things, I find it challenging and a great way to try and broaden my vocal horizons. But I gotta admit I love the screamin' part... I'd love to tackle classical stuff and take lessons. Anyways, I started this channel last year, thinking "What the hell, why not giving it a try and uploading some covers of mine, too." Found out it was great fun and kinda addictive. Yeah, I love singing, so I burn midnight oil making recordings and vids. Id also like to do more collaborations with other YouTubers in the future.
Bands?: Yes, I sing in MOONCHILD, a tribute band to Iron Maiden, with my buddies from Belgium. I also sing in BAR PIGS, a tribute to Ozzy Osbourne again with some friends from Belgium. (So I get to travel back a few times a year to Europe for a bunch of gigs.) I occasionally sing here in Japan in some cover bands (tribute to Uriah Heep, Whitesnake) and sometimes hop on the stage at some friends' request.
Original songs?: Yes and no. I was the frontman of the LIGHTSEEKERS (a French band which has just released their Debut album in Japan), but family matters brought me to leave Europe for Japan and quit the band after co-writing and recording the songs of their first album and doing a couple of showcases. Heartbreaking but hey, that's life... So there was a promotional kit released in limited edition, but eventually the Lightseekers re-recorded all the songs with Gus Monsanto, their new vocalist. Please check them out on myspace and the Tube. You can listen to some of the recordings I did with them on myspace.
How?: The first thing I do is to try and find a good backing track (usually buy them online). I multitrack my vocals with Apple's GarageBand, then edit my vid with Apple's iMovie. It's not top quality but hey, this is just for fun!
Why?: Well, mostly for fun, but I gotta admit that it's also in the secret hope that I may be noticed and approached one day by a semi-pro band or better, since YouTube seems to sometimes double as a recruitment agency for bands in need of manpower...
Anyways, you enjoy this channel, I'll keep posting stuff, mostly metal, sure, but I may also venture into pop and other territories when I'm in the mood... Thanks for your comments, stars, support... and music!! S4V
