I have tried this and the results werent great, it yellowed over time from the heat... let me know how this works. I think I used VHT engine enamel clear? thanks for the videos.

it is just the shell of the old guide boss that is cracked.... he should have machined it off completely and pressed in .500 guides. This can be fixed very easily by a competent shop. dont scarp them!!

If you do the math, this engine combination is only 414 cid. Sorry, not 427. as stated bore=4.125, stroke 3.875 these numbers give a total displacement of 414.3 cubic inches. Even with a .030 overbore, this combo is only 420 cid...

even with upgraded heads, the small bore of the 305 will never breathe like a larger bore motor. It is never cost effective to sink money into a 305.... a comparably built 350 will spank the smaller motor every time.

John, ever done this mod to domestic V8 stuff? So i guess you would only weaken the rod wherein it would fail on decell, such as when rod bolts fail? Keep em comin. -scott
