The emotional power and haunting loveliness of this ballad still shine, nearly 35 years after the first time I heard it. The Diana Krall cover is so good because the material is so good to start with. though surely Krall is a wonderful artist and does a very soulful cover of it.

Billy Joel - Lullaby (Cover)
There's some tricky harmonies in this one, so don't be cruel: I know I'm not always in perfect tune here :)

I can see how you would be interested in this song, Flo. Bittersweet, a beautiful sort of melancholy. The qualities that made your "Diamonds and Rust" cover so terrific can be felt here as well. I think your harmonies are quite wonderful. Sounds almost medieval--solemn, holy, you can almost sm...

So classy. With the western world coming apart all around us, we can look back and enjoy songs like this, from that pinacle where we were at the top of the bell curve and it seemed like the best was yet to come. Just didn't realize we were there already.

Your vocal is very well done--you've really made the song your own, I think it is great you gave it your own phrasings and nuances--what a great song it is. Joni would be proud!
