Scott D. Butcher is an author, photographer, and marketing professional based in York, Pennsylvania. He is the author of several books, including Delaware Reflections, Gettysburg Perspectives, Yorks Historic Architecture, York: Americas Historic Crossroads, Postcard History Series: York, Civil War Walking Tour of York, Pennsylvania, Spooky York, Pennsylvania, and Marketing in the Building Industry. Upcoming releases include Tombstone (AZ) Perspectives and Lancaster Perspectives.

A graduate of Penn State with a B.S. in Marketing, Scott also holds a Certificate in Professional Photography from the New York Institute of Photography. He is a Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) through the Society for Marketing Professional Services. He was also named one of Central Pennsylvanias Forty under 40 in 2008.

Scott is active in the local community, and currently serves as president of the board of directors for Historic York, Inc. He formerly served as a board officer for Main Street York and Leadership York, and has also served on the boards of directors of the York County Convention & Visitors Bureau and York County Chapter of the American Red Cross. Scott was also a co-founder of the Central Pennsylvania Affiliate Chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (Philadelphia Chapter) and Sigma Iota Epsilon honorary management fraternity at Penn State Harrisburg, where he was the first honorary member. Additional volunteer work includes the development of living history programs for the York County Heritage Trust and service on the organizational task force working to create the William C. Goodridge Freedom House Underground Railroad Museum.

As a regular presenter and walking tour guide, Scott has created a series of unique, informative presentations that focus on historical aspects of the region.
