Like so many themes, it had nothing to do with the show. Wally Gator, of course, did not live in the swamp. He lived in a zoo. There's a problematic grey area. He can speak and reason like a human; he even wears clothes. Yet it's put forth that humans have a right to imprison and exhibit him. Hmmm.
