Rofo is Ronny Verrept and Fonny De Wolf (Charity, Samantha Gilles, Michael Bow, Bianca). The first single from Rofo from 1983 "Flashlight On A Disco Night" egnited a new high energy sound in electronic music - followed by "I Want You" and "You Got To Move It On". A blend of rolling synthesizers and male/lounge-like vocals.
"Rofo's Theme" is an instrumental track from 1987 which brought dance floors to their feet with it's fast furious keyboards and rolling-rolling bass sequencers. This on has always reminded me of "a day at the horse races" - it has that much energy!
I have ReStructured the original 12" remix version and created an extended flowing intro and then had some fun chopping and re arranging much of the keyboard bridges and segues.

JDC Records was an important record distributor during the golden years of dance music (1976-1990). It was originally located in San Pedro, California and owned by Jim and Dale Callon The company name came from their initials, JDC. They distributed world-wide and carried many independent labels. JDC was known for their "JDC Mixers." Popular DJs such as DJ Pebo would take records from the catalog and create a non-stop dance mix. JDC also had a retail record store in San Pedro. It was managed by Rudy Benavides.
Jim Callon worked closely on production with his UCLA classmate, Charles Lamont of Barking Dog Studios.
JDC was also a record label which included a sub-label of hip-hop called Dunk Yer Funk Records which released the electrofunk classic "Velocity, Speed and Force" by VSF (which was produced by J-vibe).

Stainless Steal is a disco project from arranger Geoff Bastow and producer Pete Bellotte -- both were in integral part of the Munich disco scene in the late 70s. Bastow arranged many disco projects including Suzie Lane's "Ooh, La, La", Joy Fleming's "The Final Thing" and Elton John's disco project "Born Bad".
"Can-Can" is a disco version of the composition from the 1800s -- that has since become associated with the French dance by the same name. The disco version inserts a few moments of disco orchestration on some sassy chorus girl riffs.
I have taken the 1982 film "Victor Victoria" -- a film by Blake Edwards and stars Julie Andrews, James Garner and Robert Preston. The story set in 1934 revolves around a struggling singer/artist who pairs with Preston to create a fake female impersonation stage show to exhibit her voice.
The comedy moves quite well with the music of the can-can and creates a whole new experience for the film and disco recording.
The film was directed by Blake Edwards
