Bette Davis Movie 1934

A tragic tale of love and rejection, this beautifully acted movie sees Bette Davis (in her debut film) as Cockney waitress Mildred Rogers, with whom the sensitive, club-footed Philip Carey (Leslie Howard) falls hopelessly in love. The somewhat flirtatious and pushy Mildred doesnt seem capable of long-term love in the same way as Philip does but hes made of much stronger stuff and strives to build a life after love, although his affection for Mildred lingers despite her wayward ways.

Will Mildreds philandering ways prove her undoing will Philip always be there to pick up the pieces?
