The World Surfing Reserves program is a new, cutting edge initiative designed to enshrine and protect the worlds best, most sacred, cherished and famous surf spots - basically the best waves on the planet. It will proactively designate and help preserve outstanding waves, surf zones and their surrounding environments.

Pro surfers Rob Machado, Hans Hagen, as well as entrepreneur Fernando Aguerre rally support to protect these coastal wetlands. As Rob Machado says "it's about time."
