Thanks for posting this., Yes, metal detectors don't go deep, after 20cm, it is very difficult, there are plenty of coins at 30cm, and no one can find them. There is nothing wrong with your detector, it just isn't a magic wand as the marketing claims.

You turned it off, turned it on and Turned up the sensitivity (all after discrimination was set) A little bit misleading . Since it would have detected all targets at all distances after you turned that sensitivity up to the max.
