This is not Bel Canto -it is forced singing. It sounds as if the student trying to sing on too open vowels, and possible trying to place the voice forward (a basic error)? Listen to Gigli or Schipa.

This is silly. A correctly-sung head voice note does not give a sensation on the forehead. A head voice note should feel up and a bit back in respect to lower notes. The Ah is never forward - it is always the furthest back vowel, whether high or low.
