About this user

I was born the daughter of a council man from the Northern Water Tribe. His Name was Raiden Aquamarine, and my mother is Kimi Aquamarine. At the age of five my parents left to help in the war. My Mother was take along to be the healer of the group. My Father the leader. Being only five I was left in the care of Yagoda, the teacher of healing with bending.

At age seven the group who left came back. Some of the people were captured while others were killed. Luckily both of my parents came back unharmed. While the group was away my Mother met up with a woman named Hama. She taught my Mother how to fight using waterbending and how to do a technique called bloodbending.

Upon her return my Mother started to teach me what she had learned. We practice in our house when My Father was away, also in the Spirit Oasis when we where going to "meditate." But we mostley practice at our home.

In my tribe it is tradition at age sixteen to get engaged, however my Father wasn't ready to give me away just yet. I was glad for this. When I turned seventeen my Father decided it was time. The boy I was suppose to marry was a waterbender named Sakoda. He was not very nice I have discovered. Yet, when I pleaded with my Father about how I didn't want to marry Sakoda and why; my Father said I was making it up just to get out of my commitment.

My wedding was planned for my eighteenth birthday. As the day drew nearer I became more and more restless. Trying to get our of it. Then two weeks before my wedding the 'Siege of the North' took place. I had mixed feeling about this. Sad that it was distroying my home, but excited. This was the perfect distraction to get away.

So the night of the full moon I packed my bag and left my house. I took back ways heading towards the outter wall. I knew there were the Fire Nation ships lurking out beyond the wall, but I knew the water, I could sneak around them I told myself. Yet, as I approched the wall the brightly glowing moon disapeared from the sky. I was surprised and scared, but i kept going not wanting to stay.

Soon I stopped seeing a sight that will never leave my mind. I saw my Father on the ground. His back burned really bad and a deep cut in his side. I could tell he was struggling for his life. I looked around and saw many of the benders and warriors from the tribe keeping an eye out for themselves and seem to over look my Father. I quickly dropped my bag and ran to his side.

Placing my hands on his side to try and keep pressure on his wound so it won't bleed out. I wanted so bad to heal his wound. Heal it, close it, something. But with no moon, no bending I couldn't do a thing but keep pressure on the wound.

My Father and I talked a little, words all a blur now. I just remember his last words before he died. They where 'I love you Kaiya... Take care of your Mother, and do me proud.' Those words still echo in my head today. His hand holding one of mind went limp and soon the moon reapeared in the sky. Knowing it appeared to late I let the tears fall. There was no use holding them in now. Even if he was making me go through with this marriage, I loved him.

The air became calm and the FireBenders where gone, the ships where gone, and all I saw around was a blurry image of water tribe members walking about to survay the damage. Master Pakku, Sakoda, and Yagoda found me kneeling by my Father's side still holding his hand. I didn't know what to say or do. Yagoda took me home that night pulling me from my Father. I didn't want to go, but I couldn't find myself to talk and object.

A week later was when they held the cermony for all the people lost in the Siege. Raiden, my Father, being the highest ranking member to die that night got extra honarable mentions. That night I learned I still had to marry Sakoda on top of everything. And once we were wedded he would take my Father's place on the council. I didn't want this. I knew Sakoda's true self. He was mean and power hungry. I didn't want him to take my Father's place.

Being frustrated and annoyed with this I left the Northern Water Tribe the night before my wedding. I wasn't going to go through with it. I wasn't going to let him take my Father's place. I wasn't going to let him be a councilman. I left by going over the wall into the ocean and took an ice raft to the shore of the Earth Kingdom. I was headed to the city of Ba Sing Se. A city I have heard much about. And that is where I met one of my friends, Toph.
