Movies:
I rarely watch television, but I do enjoy a good movie. I appreciate a wide range of genres, but I generally do not care for anything unintelligent or needlessly idiotic, unless I'm in the right mood, in which case I find even Beavis and Butthead to be entertaining. Constant favorites are classic horror movies, Terminator 1 and 2, and Mirrormask.
Music:
Heavy metal of nearly all kinds fits my musical taste, though I am currently finding myself rather enamored of doom metal in particular. I also enjoy different varieties of rock and some classical composers. As may be inferred, I despise most popular music these days, regarding much of that which passes for music, such as the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus, as little more than commercially wanked-out RUBBISH.
Books:
I love to read and will try almost anything. However, I do not, as a general rule, enjoy teen novels, "chick lit," or mysteries in which old ladies ponder the possible foul play involved in the demises of various stuffy British persons whilst downing huge quantities of tea. Stephen King is a favorite of mine, and I also greatly enjoy authors such as Heinlein, Lovecraft, Poe, Douglas Adams, Salinger, Anne McCaffrey, Shakespeare, Piers Anthony, Bram Stoker, Donald Wandrei, Clark Ashton Smith, Chuck Palahniuk, Salvatore, Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, and others, including the authors of Greek, Roman, and Arthurian legends. I also read poetry, from the classics to more avant-garde works, and magazines. George Carlin (yes, one can be a Christian and still love Carlin) is my favorite humorist and Bill Watterson and Gary Larson are my favorite cartoonists.
