With a passion for films, stories and film-making, I began scriptwriting in 2003. In 2004, my treatment titled "Blackout" was awarded a grant by Singapore Film Commission and Media Development Authority in Singapore. I believe a film-maker keeps learning forever with every film he makes. I found Kevin Spacey's Triggerstreet which is a great place for me to get to know fellow film-makers. I have listened and learnt from film-industry professionals such as Russell Boyd (Cinematographer for Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World), Shekhar Kapur (Director: Elizabeth), Chris Vogler by attending their lectures and putting that into practice as I tell my stories through my films. I also met Tim Tomlinson of New York Writers Workshop who provided me constructive feedback on my script. I took a 4 months duration 16mm course at Digital Media Hive in 2005 to get my hands on a Bolex. Since then, I have written and directed short films and am always finding ways to experiment with my Sony VX2100 that I purchased last year. I also run an Arts & Design Portal at www.rebelgenius.com for fellow artists. Currently, I am planning and writing a script for my first feature film. I believe a good director tells good stories with interesting characters and I hope to keep doing that.
