Great stuff. Two years prior down in Florida, Dusty beat Bass in a Bullrope match and had five minutes with James Dillon. The ref takes a bump, Bass comes in and piledrives Rhodes, puts Dillon on top of Rhodes and Dillon wins.

Cookie Gilchrist is another prime example of an AFL great being slighted by the NFL and NOT being in the Hall of Fame.

I believe this Dolphins win was the first of a decade long sweep by Phins over the Bills in the 1970's.

Bad defense or not, a great running then should gain alot of yards against this team and O.J. did just that.

I still believe this is the most impressive season ever by a running back.

@plntntvzn I like Maynard but am very partial to AFL stars. I think they are under appreciated.

I think Brady is good NOT great. And, he is in a great system which obviously benefits him.

I remember watching this game on TV as an eight year old boy at my grandmother's house in Chicago. The Bills were my favorite team.

@tp10488 You are right, Hadl was the last QB to wear a number higher than 19. And, I agree, old Metropolitan Stadium was a great sight to see.

@plntntvzn I don't remember Jimmy's fumble issues though I do remember his 1975 year where he gained over 800 yards and then, if I am not mistaken, had a devastating knee injury in 1976.

The crowd pop for when Magnum drives the wooden spike into Tully's head/eye is unreal!

@plntntvzn I don't want to get into another debate with you my friend but the INT that Joe Ferguson threw late in this game was not O.J.'s fault...lol.

I was a HUGE Bills fan during the 70's and into the early 80's and Joe Ferguson was one of my favorite players but he did have the knack at time...

@plntntvzn We will just have to peacefully disagree. The only thing I will say is O.J. was not calling the plays back then. I believe you could shift some of that blame to Lou Saban though he did help give the Bills three straight winning seasons in the mid 1970's.

@plntntvzn Yea, the Bears had a solid Offensive line to run behind and Payton always had an excellent fullback as well.

I will say this about Walter and I know you will agree with me. Walter Payton was a COMPLETE running back. He could block, run, pass, kick and catch. Walter was a BEAST!

We can say what we want about O.J. now but notice when he scored he didn't act like a clown afterwards. He acted like he had been there before!

I believe that was the longest run in O.J.'s career. He also had an 88 yard TD run against the Steelers in 1975.

The Bills were my favorite team as a kid in the 1970's even though I lived outside of Chicago. O.J. was my favorite player at the time.
