They speak the a language in the family of Ho-Munda-Santal. Very people speak languages like this outside of Cambodia and Burma. The majority of Singhalese are Caucasians--slender, brown-skinned people. These were Aryans whose skin colour changed as a result of wheather. The rest have Mongoloid, not Astroloid, features.

I don't know about Tamils of Sri Lanka, but the high caste Tamils of India have Caucasoid features, while lowcaste have Astroloid features. This has nothing to do with war on terror, waged for entirely different reasons.

Sri Lankas Tamils are probably more closely related to Sinhalese (and Lankan Marakkalas), than to Indian Tamils. But your diagnosis of the problem is incorrect. It is a wealthy and influential segment of the Sri Lankan Tamils that are the root of the racism. They are ethnic supremacists and genocidists who think that the Sinhalese (and other non-Tamil ethnic groups within Sri Lanka) have no right to exist! 1915 Major Sinhala-Muslim riot took place. In June, Sinhala Budhist-Muslim riots in Ceylon. Riots spread from the central province to the western and northwestern provinces.

There were heavy casualities amongst the Muslims. According to available records, 146 Muslims were killed and 405 Muslims were injured and 62 Muslims women have been raped by major Sinhalese. Nearly 85 mosques were damaged and more than 4,075 Muslin-owned shops were looted by the Sinhala rioters.

Basically, respect for the rights of all the ethnic and religious groups is needed - and apart from the ongoing military conflict it seems to be just fine - but "independence" is not.
