Sam Gray was born in the city of Hull but has made Manchester his home. Influenced by this great cities musical heritage and history, Sam Gray will soon take his place amongst the great talents that this musical metropolis has given to the world.

Sam is a songwriter of rare ability with a voice to match. It was a chance meeting with legendary drummer Steve White that first saw the two musicians begin work on Sam's debut studio sessions , the chemistry was instant between these two and it was plain to Steve (who has worked with amongst others Paul Weller, the Who and Ian Dury) that Sam was something special. Sam was duly signed to leading publishers the Notting Hill Music Group and picked up by their label; Transmission Recordings.

Sam's stunning debut album is called "Brighter Day" and will be released in the UK and Eire by Transmission Records, it features some of the most sublime pop music of modern times, beautiful uplifting melodies, soulful playing and skillful lyrics , its under lying uplifting message of optimism will shine across the globe in 2011! The title track has already been used in "Hollyoaks", the biggest UK youth TV show , and the initial reactions from the synchronisation world suggest a bright future for Sam in this important area.

The album has been produced by Brendan Lynch and Max Heyes (Paul Weller, Primal Scream, Ocean Colour Scene, Rod Stewart, Doves).

'Brighter Day' will rank as one of the debut albums of the decade!
