About Samba Jess
Born to a mother from Sao Vicente, Cabo Verde and a Professional Soccer Player father from Guine-Bissau, "Samba Jess" specializes in Brazilian Carnaval Style Samba, as well as some of the native dances from Cabo Verde and the Portuguese Diaspora. Jess' Samba training began in 2002 in Toronto, and has extended to Samba Schools in Brazil, and workshops in New York City with some of the most talented dancers and teachers the Samba world has to offer. Performing across Ontario, Quebec and recently in Brazil during Carnival 2010 in Rio De Janeiro, Jess' teaching has spanned from Toronto to Costa Rica and back.. Currently, Jess is teaching in the Greater Toronto Area as she directs, choreographs and performs for Afrolusophone.
