This is your opportunity to take part in a World wide view of Racism, Civil and Human Rights atrocities. With the upcoming release of the film SALUTE you can help make these problems a global issue.
About Me:

Welcome to WINGMAN PICTURES on YOUTUBE.

My name is Matt Norman (Director). I am the nephew of Olympic 200m Silver medalist Peter Norman who tragically passed away in October 2006. Peter Norman was involved in one of Histories 20 most popular images of the 21st Century, where Tommie Smith and John Carlos stood on the 200 meter medal dais giving what is now called the "Black Power Salute". As a film-maker I started this journey to find out the truth of what happened on that day. What I've come to find is that the world we live in today is demanding attention toward racial, civil and human rights tragedy's that most of us now take for granted.

We live in a fiercely cruel world and just like the problems of global warming, health care, gun control etc, we should also seriously look at the way we treat each other and the billions of people that live side by side on this lonely planet.

Before the release of the film SALUTE in early 2008, I would like to give those of you with thoughts on Racism, Civil and Human rights the opportunity to share your thoughts to the World.

Salute is a very powerful film with a very powerful message. By taking this very simple step of voicing your thoughts on these issues, maybe.... MAYBE we could all stop and think about what we are doing to each other. We seem to live in some kind of bubble and don't recognize the true meaning of what it is to be alive.

Post, write or videotape messages with passion. The more attention this subject gets the more you can help change the world we live in.

More info about the film can be found at www.salutethemovie.com

Thanks all.

Matt Norman

no special effects here - although it's hard to tell if the cameraman is real because he stands so still :)

I saw the film today and it was amazing Peter Norman sounded like a man that had a wonderful attitude and a wonderful sense of humour , i also had no idea about the amount of students that died in Olympic protests.
Great work.

I just saw your appearance on 9am and i really wish you the best in getting your uncle's statue put up with the other two in America...it sounded so disrespectful that people can stand there in his blank spot and have their photo taken like a novelty, when it is a serious issue that he was a part of and should be recognized for it.

Dear Matt Norman, and others involved in this movie.

My name is Karl Olav Grønlund Sørensen(29)from Oslo, Norway. After reading about this movie in the NYT and watching the trailer, I can not wait to see your movie. My mother's sister is married to Pete Norman's cousin in Melbourne and this is how the word about Salute got all the way up north. Is there any plans or any way I can help to get this movie screened in Norway, I would gladly help. Norway has a long and strong history of civil & human rights advocacy and research - I am positive that Salute would be widely and greatly received here.

Best regards,
Karl Olav

Will you be including Josh Healey's eulogy for Peter on your YouTube channel?

I certainly hope so.

I am now in Beijing, and am also marketing manager of the 5th fastest runner of the Worldchampionships 2007.
By accident I just stumbled upon the movie salute, which really got my interest.

Peter Norman, Smith & Carlos may never be forgotten, and I will promote this movie Salute amongst my whole sports network.

At this time, days before the Beijing Olympics, is seems appropriate to THANK Peter Norman for the talent and decency that he brought to the Olympics and the hope he engendered in my heart as a youngster that continues today. He is no longer with us but I would like you his family and friends to know that there are many of us around the world that love and respect and hold dear the values he held and fought for. For his 'silent gesture' was an megatronbomb on the racist superstructure that totters on even today. He paid a heavy price. The decency that he brought to attention of the world will live on and outlast his critics however. Today he is better known and better respected and tomorrow he will be even better known...
RIP Peter Norman, you did humanity a good turn. Peace!

I am going on and on about this documentary. Could I possibly help in any way to get it shown in Sweden. It needs to be shown everywhere!
