Rodrigo Bellony was born on March 13, 1958 in the Dominican Republic. He has been teaching salsa and a variety of other dance genres since 1990. His credits include the choreography for the Latin Dance and Salsa/Mambo classes for the Annual Dance Recitals of Jamaica Center for the Arts and Learning, and performing and conducting workshops throughout the world, from the United States to Spain. He offers a unique training program, ranging from authentic street salsa to the competitive level of classic salsa dancing.

Rodrigo Bellony opened Rodrigo Dance Studio in December 2008, with the mission of enriching the cultural heritage of Jamaica, Queens by providing low-cost Latin and Afro-Cuban dance classes, performances and the Salsa in Jamaica series of dance socials.
