you didn't' talk at all about cutting back the scapes.. I was told that you have to cut them back to produce the bulb.

i was going to suggest also using your counter top, its hard and one tap and it is cracked.. also i was told by my brother in law, that scooping out little pieces of shell with the 1/2 egg shell you have more area that can contaminate your baking.. just thought i'd pass that along..
