I heard a long time ago that the records played on this turntable must be very clean, or you will hear noise. A needle will push debris out of it's way; a laser beam will not!

I had forgotten how this version sounded. It's actually distorted a bit (obviously recorded like that on purpose), but that kinda makes it sound cool. AHA, that's the secret to making a hit 45, overdrive the record level!

@seanswind HA, but there IS a difference! Listen to the piano part after "shoulder..... Na na na na na, na na na na". On the stereo version, the piano at this point (4 notes) is LOWER in volume compared to the rest, and I think this sounds weird. It's not like that in the mono version.

@penquin402 Thanks for speaking the truth. It's even clearer with headphones (use the Past Masters cd). It doesn't help that he added echo, but this was probably another attention getting ploy. I don't think he really believes they're saying "Paul Is Dead".
