My Dutchie story - I met a guy in Dartmouth, NS, once who showed me his new electric guitar (I recall it was a Richenbacker wanna-be). Anyway, I asked him where he had bought it and he said "Oh, I didn't buy it, I won it off Dutchie Mason in a poker game.

You're probably right. I knew Clarence White played with the Byrds. I thought Norman played on the Sweethearts of the Rodeo album but I must have been thinking of Dylan's Nashville Skyline album that Blake played on. I've been a Blake fan since the mid-70s and my mind plays tr...

A great tune. I first heard it by a band from the blind school in Amherst, NS on a Dartmouth Cable TV remote from Farrell Hall in 1972. So I've been singing that line "I'm on my second cup of coffee and I just can't face the dawn" for the past 40 years. So nice to hear the rest of the song! Go Go...

Typical Ralph Emery interview. He just winged it, didn't do any research and asked stupid questions. "I usually get one in my nose" pretty well sums up Ralph's "wit" ....
What was the next question.... "Duh, Tony, could you explain why a guitar has six strings?"

Guild D-35 has a spruce top, mahogany back & sides. The D-25 is all mahogany. As the number hints, the D-25 was the lower end model, nice guitar though. If you can find an old Guild from the 60s or 70s, you will find a guitar every bit as well built and comparable sound to a Gibson but a lot less...

Wouldn't it make more sense to compare a J-45 to a Martin D-18? The D-18 and J-45 are both Mahogany back and sides with spruce top. The HD-28 is Rosewood back and sides with spruce top. Also, the J-45 and D-18 are almost identically priced. I don't see what could be gained from comparing the J-45...

The wonderful thing about this version of Keep Your Distance is the way the arrangement manages to defy classification - not country, not folk, not rock, not pop, etc. It's just great music ... nuf said. Isn't it time we, as consumers, demanded an end to the destructive "formatting" of our music?...
