We, the Franciscan Friars of the Sacred Heart Province announce 2007-2008 as a year of Jubilee. In 1858, friars from the Holy Cross Province in Saxony arrived in the Midwest at the invitation of the local Bishop. During these 150 years, obedient to God's call and true to our Father Francis, we have grown into a fraternity of many
cultures serving all of creation. This grace-filled heritage continues to invite and challenge us to affirm that every person we meet is a "brother" or a "sister".
In this year of Jubilee, we will commemorate our humble beginnings, Celebrate the wonder of what God is doing among us, and recommit
Ourselves to be "good news" for all. Our passion for Christ keeps us "lesser brothers" in the world and for
