... the reason being is that the precession period would have to constant, the earths rotation rate would have to be constant, the earths orbital period would need to be constant, and all of these things would need to be in phase. Tidal friction slows all of these things down.

@WhackWackenhut I can take the spelling joke, I also have the same problem with there and their. Anyway, there is actually a reason many scientist fail to piece together theories with ancient history and modern observations, not to mention new age thought. The reason is a good scientific theory...

OK, I take the last thing back you do mention the AU thing but one further observation... notice that when the comet makes its closest approach it is at about 0.5 AU from the Sun... this is characteristic of most all comets that are captured by the Suns gravity. @WitnessoftheTruth Also, please cite where you get this information exactly for these "ages." If the bible then cite exactly where. If this is purely the interpretation of text, then isn't the simplest and most reasonable answer that the interpretation was wrong?
