Why does everything always need to be a comparison? Streisand was and still is great. Murney is great. They're great in different ways, because they both have unique talents. Julia is a whole lot nicer to work with though, I can guarantee.

Yeah, what's the point of even going to a performance if you're going to scream over the actor's singing. It has nothing to do with appreciation for the actor--it's just the audience's way of showing that they recognize someone.

Like I said, it's fairly useless to try to predict live theatre awards 10 months from when they'll actually be given. I've been attending...

@jewey896 This is simply not true. Laura was always set to replace Kristin, but it came down to a contract issue - Laura wanted more money than the production was offering. So in the end, she didn't end up getting the job and Jennifer replaced Kristin.

Wow. Bernadette might not have the most purely beautiful voice to ever sing this song, but this might be the most emotionally provocative rendition I've ever heard. I'm in tears. I can guarantee that I'll be a mess after I see the production on 8/31.

@WonderfulLizardOfOz It's a classic musical theatre "I want" song, just like "Somewhere There's Green." I've listened to the song several times, though, and I can't detect any shared musical motifs.
