Clapton is good with both Strat and Gibson. But even sometimes he wears a simple t shirt, Clapton cares about how he looks. I suspect that one of the reasons he uses Strat is that he thinks it looks better on him and vice versa. Of course, I may be wrong.

No use in arguing which version is better or best coz it's up to each personal's taste.
We can only say we LIKE this or that version more, but they are all great in their
own way. For me, even Clapton is one of my great heroes, i prefer the Isley Brothers' version.
