a CAITO MARTINS production - a film by BILL DAY & TERRY SCHWARTZ
When a big budget Warner Brother's movie about slain Brazilian activist Chico Mendes goes bust, Bill Day, Terry Schwartz and Caito Martins head deep into the Amazon to find out who Chico Mendes really was and why Hollywood couldn't make a big budget film about the man some called "The Ghandi of the Amazon."
Join us on an amazing adventure up the Amazon River where you will learn the not often told story of rubber history in the Brazilian Amazon.

The story of rubber seems little known . It is just something people take for granted , like coffee or bananas .
But the world would stop without it , and it could happen....
For anyone interested , there is an excellent book on botanical/ethnobotanical studies in the Amazon ,
by Wade Davis , called One River , which I found educational as well as a hell of a good read .
Thanks again .
