@sintochan Watch the 1983 version - it's the most true to the book. I've read the book at least 15 times since I was 9 and that one is my favorite. This version deviated from the original text in so many unnecessary ways that didn't improve upon the story in any discernable way.

@TheGlaros I think it isn't that Timothy Dalton outshines Zelah Clarke per se but that Mr. Rochester is a very strong, vibrant character while Jane is a quiet, unassuming one. The book describes them as such many times. Therefore, I think they each played their characters perfectly.
