even with aftermarket exhaust, it still sounds like a louder washing machine.

I am not sure if you know what your are talking about.
Jag has equivalent horse power to it's rival (Merc SL, BMW 6..), far superior suspension (one of the very few car use magnetic suspension like ZR1 & new model Farrari); best MPG in the class.
