Hard to point out one favorite album by them. Morningrise has always been a favorite. I really like Still Life a lot, personally. They don't have an album that I don't like, so it's a matter of finding favorites among a bunch of good ones.

Gotta get this DVD. Seen these guys live 4 times. The only thing that saddens me is that I'll probably never again see them in a little club where you're three feet from the band and the guys are hanging out in the bar before their set.

I can see some stylistic similarities of "some" Agalloch and "some" early Opeth (Morningrise and before), but not much beyond that.
I do think Opeth has the edge in terms of being a better band, but these are both two of my favorites and both great bands imo.
