About Me:
As well as the world class Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, our programme of classical music activity includes the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Choir, the Rodewald Concert Series of chamber music and our contemporary group Ensemble 10/10.
Our extremely active Learning department has been working with schools and the community through its orchestral programme since the 1940. We offer a range of inspirational opportunities to get involved in live music-making of the highest quality for thousands of people every year, and learning events for all ages from 3 years to adults.
Uniquely, we also run a venue; the Grade II listed Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. We promote a wide range of contemporary rock, pop, folk, roots, jazz and blues concerts and music projects, in addition to festivals and comedy. Built in the 1930s, the 1,790 seat Art Deco concert hall also regularly transforms into a cinema. A smaller space upstairs, the Rodewald Suite, provides a cabaret style venue.

Hi DrAlbertDock, engaging young people in music is very important to us, we have a regular season of concerts for schools. In 2008/9, the concerts attracted 22,000 children and young people from over 200 local primary, secondary and special schools. More details here: http://www.liverpoolphil.com/2

My first visit to see the RLPO was as a child in the late sixties as part of a local school event which I have never forgotten and which, for me, was one of the most engaging experiences of my life. I do hope that local schools in Liverpool still have that opportunity and I would be very interested to find out. Thanks RLPO... you rock!!!!!

Liverpool Philimonic Orchestra, your music is beautiful. I used to come every year for valentines with my grandfather, as he was passionate about classical music and i can now see why! Sadly he passed away last year, but i still listen to you on youtube, keep up the hard work. Your all very talented people, the choir are fantastic and wish you all the very best for the future! :)
