nice.but you wont be using all that power if you want to get that 40 mpg. you will have to drive accordingly, of course.

why are you showing a 2011 yaris but calling it a 2012. that is not the 2012 model, which was redesigned.

@outkast40 plenty of need/want. they are selling like crazy. i want 40 mpg's without having to drive a typical looking econobox...fit, yaris, versa, sonic, etc...its fast enough.

if you need speed, the turbo is coming next year.

@Seadgaranovic i can get a manual trans elantra for under $18k appointed decently. to get a honda stick with a radio and air i have to spend more for a car that even makes a corolla look interesting...and i still dont get as good mpg with the civic stick.

@TheSaeed191 no, not anything close to the same engine. besides, its a hybrid with very lackluster mpg's for a hybrid. no back seats....honda failed with the crz. hyundai built what honda should have.

i dont know how you drive, but my first two tanks have been over 40 mpg's (actual calculation, not by the computer readout). first tank was 41.7 mpg..second tank 42.5 mpg. these tanks werent even all highway.

i have the 2012 gs hatchback with the manual transmission.

he states it has direct injection like the elantra.

the elantra DOES NOT have direct injection.

@G0Far yes, but that will be the manual tranny, which, based on the elantra, hyundai will make VERY few of. i expect the only thing we will get to see at the dealers will be the automatics which im sure will be starting arount $20,000.

it will be the lucky few who snag a manual transmission.
