Simplymatt937 - I use sand. The amount of bounce will depend on the floor (ex. mats will offer some degree of rebound). Refer to this article for more info:

What did you fill your homemade medicine ball with? I was watching your tornado ball video and noticed that yours bounces. I Made One also that weighs 27 pounds and i filled it with all purpose sand it is just HARD!
