I am not a bass player, but I love the bass, and have always regarded it as 'the last frontier', as most everything that can be done on guitar has been done. But Mark King has taken bass playing a step further, he has made it more an art-form, also he is a great singer, what a talent.

@3DGEMAN1000 I think you will find that Paul Bigsby built the first for Merle Travis in 1947, it even had the machine heads down one side of the headstock just like the Telecaster.

I actually did smoke weed with Willie while we were on tour in 1967 in the UK when Willie was not known as a singer here, just as a good song-writer. I got on very well with him, nice bloke.
