Sparks fly in an increasingly contentious Dem campaign...
A couple of nice critiques from the judges at a local film festival included below. Apparently, they liked previous episodes where conservative males were primarily the "targets". Not so keen, though, on the idea of a liberal/female being ridiculed.
Judge 1: "The computer animation is sophisticated, but the message is not very funny to all, and the timing somewhat unfortunate. The treatment of Hilary during the race for the nomination has been an issue that was much discussed in the media and noted with dismay in some quarters as being representative of the a pervasive sexism that has not been addressed with anything near what that of racism in this country, so your portrayal of her as a monster seemed insensitive; furthermore, Tim Russert's recent and sudden death makes the attack on him, which presumably kills him, look insensitive in another way although you probably made the film before his death. You titled the film in part "There Will Be Blood," but the parody seems to end there because the end looks more like a combination of finale of Carrie and one of the Highlander movies. Humor, especially political humor which relies on current events and accurate attacks on people, loses its power very quickly, and humor that relies on poking fun at someone or something in order to make the audience laugh at themselves is very difficult."
Judge 2: "I liked the previous Nightly Potato Episodes but this one was less successful. While previous ones seemed clever, this seemed like a re-hash of too-familiar Clinton bashing, was not original enough and the Carrie-like ending took that tack into meaness. A rule in comedy is that ridiculing the winner, or the powerful getting comeuppance, is funny but kicking the loser is not. I have to agree the Tim Russert bit also seemed ghoulish to me. "

It's a shame.
