Rodney first played piano at the age of 4 but put that aside as it wasn't his interest. However, an admiration for one of his female classmates in the 6th grade had him change his mind and he returned to his musical fountainhead. Although he was unsuccessful in his courtship, his piano playing started to soar when he discovered that he possessed perfect pitch. From then on, he started writing songs.

For years, he played mostly piano. On one fateful event, during a video jockey gig, Rodney got into an very painful accident. The projector he was lifting in place for advertisements to show at TOronto's RPM (now called the Guvernment) was so heavy and Rodney did not expect it to be and so it slipped out of his hand. Not knowing that there was a very thick screw underneathe the base, it pierced the fourth finger in his hand, leaving a bloodied and painful position. With only two weeks for a music audition for a jazz piano program, Rodney was left at a crossroads.

However, it was this very moment that changed his life, as he made the decision to make music a priority.

Fortunately, his finger had healed well enough before the audition and was later invited into the program (which he decided to turn down to complete his fine arts studies at OCAD).

Meeting the Toronto cast of Miss Saigon was another turning point in Rodney's life, as it would be the first time he would be a piano accompanimist for professional singers.

Later on, he continued to expand his capabilities from songwriter to independent record producer, working with local talents in the Toronto area. He released his first CD in January 2000 and then followed up with a compilation CD a month later which he co-produced.

The following year, Rodney started working with international artists such as Jamie Stevens from Germany and Jennifer Uy of the Philippines. Rodney's work has been heard on German, Chinese and Filipino radio all over the world.

Then a decision to train as a singer became the next turning point in Rodney's life, becoming a complete artist altogether. For the first time in his life, he would be known as a singer, composer, songwriter, producer and also a music director.

Rodney is also a well-read learner and practitioner of the holistic health and wellness field - having been cured of decades-long diseases which he was able to solve through his practice. Because of this, Rodney now also runs a home business promoting high-quality health, wellness and environmentally safe products. He is active in helping heal the planet as well as promoting a healthy home and office, as well as healthy entertainers.
