As a drummer for more than 50 years, I'll take Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa over any of today's drummers. They were real all-purpose drummers who could play anything and if not for their creative genius, we wouldn't have the good and great drummers we have today,

Yep, you can use a power attenuator that runs between the head and the cab. You can turn the head all the way up, set the power suck at 10% or whatever, and get the killer tone at a lower volume. Power attens run from about $50 up to $400 or more.
