@JohnDCrafton It's worth remembering that old computers had no lower case character set, which is why old(ish) computer users sometimes think lower case hexadecimal is blasphemy. :D

Once you see the pattern, this is actually quite fast to generate. The only problem is that if it's done the intuitive way in front of an audience, everyone would instantly see the trick. :D So it's probably unavoidable to have to mix the order around a bit to make it less obvious and that will...

The most amazing thing about Mark King isn't that he is great on bass, although he certainly is that. It's more amazing to me that every time I listen to him, he's better than he was before. It's pretty hard to keep on doing that for 30+ years IMHO.

You can tell that Mark's voice is going when he omits the falsettos, and Mike is a little ragged on some of the keyboard parts. Looks like they are all knackered, but even in that condition, it still sounds good. I wasn't aware that Annie was working with them already in 1986. Anyone confirm t...

This is the "cut" version released on the "Level Best" album, one of many great songs which were ruthlessly mutilated just to fit on the CD. If I sound critical, it's because the cuts on that album were the worst I had ever seen, with whole sections of meaningful lyrics left out. I recommend he...

@TheCarlsonsRaiders The problem is that these cars are on the bleeding edge, which is how they win races. The car has just enough downforce and no more, to maximize straight line speed. In this case it came back to bite him, lesson learnt hopefully. Stick half the car out of the slipstream whe...

Mark's comment about being "not a good bass day" seems to be referring to the noise gate cutting off some of his notes. I guess he would not normally use one, but the studio lighting used by the film crew was causing some interference. He clarifies at 0:58.
