Maria Daines fronts a hard rockin' band playing original material written by Maria & guitarist Paul Killington.

Hailing from Cambridgeshire, UK, the Maria Daines band formed in 1996 becoming a fixture of the live music scene & making several TV appearances, garnering fans in over 20 countries and recently winning awards including best artist in the International Online Music Awards 2006 & 2007. Frequently aired on BBC and FM radio stations, the band supported US artist Pink at Cardiff International Arena for the Party For Animals World Wide in August 2007. The concert raised over £90,000 for six animal welfare charities.

Tonight I am mourning the loss of a very dear friend that I am so thankful to have met through youtube, Linda, known as Androclestipster. I will miss Linda so much for so many different reasons, but every time I think of that wonderful, caring human being and gentle soul, I will always remember how she made a difference and how she never gave up trying to help animals and people. I will be ever grateful that I was able to talk to Linda on the phone but sadly that one time would be the only time, though I felt I knew her like she was part of my family even before we talked. Time is indeed a fleeting thing, we are on this earth for only a few precious years. Linda taught me that we can all do something to help those in need. Linda chose to make videos to raise awareness and help animals, she was also a great writer and a friend to many people all around the world. She was a blessing, an angel on this earth sent to help anyone or any animal in need. Linda's presence will always be here to lead the way because she showed that giving up is not an option when there is suffering in this world. Her legacy is one of love and compassion and kindness. I hope you will take a moment to visit Linda's youtube channel and say a prayer for someone very special.

Hi from Maria :)

My passion is music, animal welfare/rights & veg & vegan education. People sometimes say welfare is different to rights, I say the animals don't know the difference and without rights there is no way to ensure good welfare, suffering is suffering whatever box you put the language in, so let's try to stop all cruelty to people and animals. At the moment I'm learning about the planet & the environment & the need to protect all species from exploitation.

Re the films uploaded to our channel, well as you can see I'm a complete beginner with a camera!

I create films with windows movie maker so I can practice and hopefully get better haha!! I find the whole process very difficult, especially editing, but I'm fascinated by art in all genres. The youtube community is great fun to be part of and we've made some good friends here and I always learn something new watching films from all over the world.

Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to view and comment on my amateur offerings, art is a unique form of expression allowing deeper feelings and emotions to be shared and that's what interests me.
